The Wack-Shack was established just north of the USMC encampment in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The Clean-Lubricant-Protect fluid—from M‑16 butt-plates clearing “Carnal Distractions”—inspired Gun Oil for a passionate world.

'The Rake'—used by junior privates to sweep sand at the Wack-Shack—was transported to Kuwait for Desert Storm. The Lance Corporal, once the youngest Marine to wield it, now holds a prominent role in Washington, D.C.

Former Marine Scott Fraser launched Empowered Products—the proprietor of Gun Oil—after a reunion challenge from fellow Marine veterans. “Empowered” reflects the clarity and vigor experienced when freeing one’s mind of “Carnal Distractions.”

Empowered Products moved its manufacturing headquarters to Las Vegas, Nevada. The company now supplies lubricants worldwide, meeting FDA and Buy American Act standards while offering holistically formulated products to keep customers healthy, happy, and passionate.

The Birth of the "Whack Shack"
Facing extreme conditions with no social life, no alcohol, and no entertainment, morale plummeted among the troops. Amidst this bleak setting, Scott made a discovery that would change his life. While cleaning his M16 rifle, he used a silicone lubricant known colloquially as “Gun Oil” to maintain his weapon. One day, in a moment of desperation, Scott found another use for this silicone lubricant, sparking an idea that would boost the spirits of his men.
Scott envisioned a private space where each marine could find solace and relief. Thus, the “Whack Shack” was born–a two-story, cool refuge in the scorching 120-degree desert. Men would put a small sandbag at the entrance of the Whack Shack to make sure no one walked in on you while you were jerking off.
This sanctuary became a place where marines could escape the harsh realities of their environment for a few moments. The men even had the newest marine at the time and would have to rake the sand at four o’clock where the men did their thing. When a new marine would join, he would get the honorary duty rake the cum filled sand. It became a folklore and something special of their daily routine and a symbol of camaraderie and survival.
After returning to civilian life, Scott entered the stock market and began considering a business venture.
